Places with LGBTQ+ Welcoming Atmospheres in Bryan-College Station

Although BCS is working its way to becoming more queer-friendly like its bigger city counterparts, Out & About thought it would be helpful to compile a list of places that are super LGBTQ+ friendly to share ideas on where to go to find community! When we asked our queer followers on Instagram where they feel most welcomed in BCS, here are the top places they said:

1. Pride Community Center

This is one is a given, as it's probably our biggest local LGBTQ+ organzation. But their social events would be a great place to start if you're looking for like-minded, accepting individuals.

2. The 101

An icehouse style bar located near Downtown Bryan. They have a ton of live music and a really down to earth, welcoming atmosphere.

3. Pot Heads Plant Shop

This is a super cool plant shop in Downtown Bryan perfect for seasoned plant parents looking to add to their collection or newbies wanting help picking out their first house plant!

4. Halo

Halo is known as THE dance club in our area. Also in Downtown Bryan, they have drag shows every weekends, and you are sure to have fun every time you go.

5. Tone 360 Fitness

Any class at this fitness studio is awesome, but you have to check out Cardio Jam. The two owners will be your new biggest hype girls. Located in College Station.

6. SoCo Blow Dry Bar

Specializing in "Damn Good Hair Days," you can get hairstyling and blowouts here. They're located in College Station, with a new location in Magnolia, Texas.

7. Polite Coffee

Located in the Kyle House near Downtown Bryan, this coffee shop and roastery is a great place to hang out and study. The baristas are always super kind, and their coffee is some of the best in town.

8. RX Pizza

Wood-fired DELICIOUS pizza with locations in Downtown Bryan and College Station. Vegan-friendly pizza dough, and people-friendly staff.

9. The Cycle Station

Fitness studio near Texas A&M Campus with highly reviewed indoor cycling classes. They host an annual Pride Ride during Pride Month.

10. Ronin

We recommend this place 100% for date nights and special occasions (or anytime!) The atmosphere is relaxed, but the upscale farm-to-table menu never disappoints. Located in Downtown Bryan.

11. HERPS Exotic Reptile & Pet Shop

The name says it all – they have plenty of cool animals and friendly staff. Located on E 29th Street in Bryan.

12. The Astin Mansion

This one is actually a wedding venue! If you're engaged and looking for a place to get married, Astin Mansion very much welcomes weddings of LGBTQ+ people.
